What is a professional organiser?

A professional organiser is a service provider who helps clients simplify their lives and improve their way of living within their spaces or daily routines by creating systems and processes for increased efficiency and productivity - which then gives clients more time and spaces to spend with what matter to them the most. In short, professional organisers are like daily life coaches teaching you how to get to your desired state, both physical space and mental space.

What happens during a session?

The lead professional organiser will be your guide all throughout the entire session. At Map Your Space, we have a signature MAP(a 2-stage process - comprising 7 actionable steps) in organising any space. We will inspect the area with you, understand the details of your pain points, provide some suggestions, and run you through the whole process.

How long does an organising job take?

Every job is different. Each project has its own opportunities and challenges. Alongside that, the project relies on a number of factors, e.g. how much stuff the client has and how quickly the client's decision-making is (particularly with decluttering and designing the required organising solutions). At Map Your Space, we will be providing you estimates based on similar (sized) projects but are subject to change.

What if I can't afford your organising services?

As much as we would like to serve you all, we do understand professional organising is not for everyone. Some people prefer to do it themselves. However, we are still happy to help you through our online social media accounts - please join us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest.

My whole house is a mess. Where do I start?

Acknowledging that you need some help is the very first step. Most people will tell you to declutter first if you own a lot of stuff that is part of the standard procedure. At Map Your Space, we will not only address your space but definitely will look into your thought process on how you arrived to where you are now and how to get to where you want to be using our signature MAP - M.I.N.D.S.E.T. Approach.

What if I live outside of your service area?

Map Your Space serves Melbourne Victoria and nearby surrounds. Please contact us to check if your location incurs a travel fee.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Map Your Space provides booking cancellation of no less than 48 hours and up to 3x rescheduling of the booking before the session commences. Any confirmed booking less than 48 hours and rescheduling of over 3x will be billed accordingly with the quoted agreed time and pricing.

Do you provide cleaning services?

Map Your Space is a professional organising service provider, not a cleaning service provider. We will be equipped with very light cleaning supplies to help wipe down shelves or drawers before setting up the agreed organising solutions. Please contact a separate cleaning service for your required dedicated cleaning job.

I am embarrassed and concerned about what you will see in my place. Do you guarantee confidentiality?

There's nothing to worry about feeling embarrassed or judged. We are here to help you not feel this way anymore. Our work is guaranteed confidential. Before and after photos will only be shared on our social media accounts as proof of service for marketing purposes with your written consent.

Do you guarantee a Pinterest-worthy or matching look and style of my home?

The outcome of each space highly relies on the decluttering step, your budget, and your preferred style. We recommend matching containers for a much more cohesive and calming look.

Is your home, as a professional organiser, always spick, and span?

How I wish, but the answer is "No". I have systems in place in most areas of my home that are easy to maintain, but there are also areas of our home that require more attention for improvement. And besides, I have kids, and we allow them to enjoy their spaces, but I teach them to respect and tidy up after themselves.
